Gauge

5 rows of 10 double crochet should create a 3.5″ square

Hooks

To obtain this gauge I use a 6mm hook for the main body.

The ribbing requires a hook 1mm smaller than the body, so I use a 5mm hook for ribbing.

Special Stitch

If you aren’t familiar with wattle stitch, find a fabulous tutorial here.

Pattern

Due to the large size range I highly recommend highlighting the size you are making at each size differentiation band to minimise confusion.
