Sizing

This pattern offers options for women’s small, medium and large heads.

Yarn

This pattern is written for 8ply /DK yarn.

While it is gorgeous in plain colours, it shows of variegated or tonal yarns beautifully.

Hook

I use a 4mm hook for the body of the beanie. Be sure to do a gauge swatch and select your hook size based off that.

If you opt for the BLO sc band, you will also need a hook half a mm smaller than your main hook (so I use a 3.5mm hook).

Additional Supplies

If you choose to make the open top crochet beanie, you will need a good quality hair tie.

Gauge

You should a 2.5″ square by working 5 rows of 10 double crochet.

Abbreviations

Ch: Chain

Sc: single crochet

Dc: double crochet

Fpdc: front post double crochet

Bpdc: back post double crochet
